Our recent entrepreneurial guest speaker was Margaret Newton of Margaret Newton Photography. The creation story behind Margaret Newton Photography is very influential and definitely inspiring. As we have discussed in class a good creation story also helps bring in business. Even with entering a red ocean Margaret Newton has been very successful in her industry. She has proved herself as a unique service provider in the industry and has shown how she stands out from the rest of the industry.

With Margaret Newton’s past experience in the business world especially in sales this allows her to connect with her clients better. In many of my business classes I have learned that in sales you aren’t selling to a company or business, you are selling to the person. To do this you have to connect with the person you are in direct contact with. Margaret Newton was successful in sales and these skills she has gained, allow her to connect with her clients which is what primarily separates her from the rest of the industry. These skills allow to her satisfy her clients better by providing them with what they are expecting and exceeding these expectations.

Margaret Newton’s business is a great inspiration for any entrepreneur starting their business. She entered a red ocean and has proven why customers should choose her photography service over all the others.
